Everyone, including “my mom,” has seen the Regular Show: The Lost Tapes teaser trailer by now, and it looks pretty good.
The trailer is pretty short, being only around half a minute long, but fans see more than enough to get excited about the upcoming spinoff.
The trailer is simple: Mordecai and Rigby are riding in the cart (for old cart’s sake) to drop trash at the dump, so they can head over to Skip’s luau. Mordecai and Rigby then begin to, of course, goof off by free-styling before seeing a live-action Benson yell at them.
The whole environment, including Mordecai and Rigby, then also turns into live action before the teaser ends abruptly.
The show is set to have 44 episodes, including a 30-minute special.
The original cast is set to return, including show creator J.G. Quintel (Mordecai), William Salyers (Rigby), Mark Hamill (Skips), Sam Marin (Benson, Pops, and Muscle Man), and Janie Haddad Tompkins (Margaret).
The show is set to take place between seasons 1-7 of the original Regular Show, which is relieving to me. When the show was first announced, I was worried it would air after Regular Show and ruin the perfect ending it had, but it seems this show will have no effect on it.
Regular Show is a nostalgic piece of my and many others’ childhoods, so it will be exciting to see these characters once again. 
The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball is another Cartoon Network spinoff show that did very well and proved this formula is possible, so hopefully, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes can replicate this success.
There are many characters that would be great to see again, besides the confirmed characters. Some specific ones that would be cool to see include the God of Basketball, Frank Smith, Sensei, and many more.
The animation in the teaser is identical to the original show, and the voices of Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson are still spot-on thanks to J.G. Quintel, William Salyers, and Sam Marin, respectively.
I couldn’t be more excited for Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, and with this teaser, I am even more anxious to finally see my favorite cartoon character return on May 11th.
