Easter is a time for celebration, marking the end of the 40 day period of Lent and the beginning of a more hopeful future. Every year families take their children to church to enjoy Easter Sunday with their community.
Although what most kids look forward to more than church is the Easter egg hunt and getting their Easter baskets. That’s where they hope to find one thing: candy.
Here’s a list of the most popular Easter candies ranked from some I find disgusting to a few I look forward to every year.
- Peeps
This vibrant marshmallow candy is one of the first things that comes to mind when you think of Easter candy. Unfortunately, they are tasteless and have the texture of biting into a worn-down leather couch.
- Robin Eggs
These candies are only available for a limited time surrounding Easter Sunday, and their fans are loyal, wishing they were a candy available year-round. I, however, am not one of these fans, and to me Robin Eggs are like disappointing M&M’s.
- Jelly Beans
This wild-flavored candy is known for its colorful options and intense flavors. Although there is nothing wrong with Jelly Beans, there is nothing like mistaking flavors and getting one that you do not like.
- Hollow Chocolate Easter Bunny
A simple yet popular choice is to give someone a hollow chocolate bunny. The only problem? It’s half-melted by the time you eat it. That and the faces of these hollow bunnies have creepy eyes that seem to track your every move.
- Kinder Joy Chocolate
An interesting pudding-like candy that comes in many different forms, Kinder Joy is a good choice for something sweet and small to put in an Easter basket. It also usually comes with a toy, which is an exciting surprise for children.
- Reese’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs
Another classic choice that has the perfect ratio of chocolate to peanut butter, Reese’s eggs are simple yet delicious. Their small size makes them perfect to put inside of an Easter egg.
- Cadbury Creme Eggs
A creme filled egg covered in thick chocolate that is sweet and rich and tastes much more expensive than they are. These are filling and have chocolate that never seems to melt.
- Reese’s Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Bunny
This snack is the perfect thing to put inside your kids’ Easter basket as it is seasonal, delicious, and lasts for multiple servings. It is a much better alternative to a hollow chocolate Easter bunny as it has flavor and is usually much fresher.
