American citizens are being murdered, families are being ripped apart, and people are being targeted because of the color of their skin.
Our country is divided.
If you aren’t angry, you should be. You need to be. It’s not just a political difference anymore. It’s a moral difference. I refuse to align myself with someone who doesn’t believe in protecting my rights or the rights of others.
I refuse to see eye to eye with someone who will mourn Charlie Kirk, a notable woman-hater and racist, but cannot sympathize with Renee Good, a woman and mother shot three times in her car by “federal agents” who proceeded to call her a “fucking bitch” and deny her life-saving care.
I refuse to align myself with anyone who thinks that it’s okay for a woman, illegal immigrant or not, to be raped in exchange for visitation with her child.
If you don’t see this as a problem, you are a part of the problem.
Now I don’t give a damn if you’re a Democrat or Republican, Socialist or Liberatarian. I do, however, give a damn if you’re MAGA. It’s because of your cult-like “party” that our country is tarnished. America was built on immigrants and a constitution you seem to have forgotten.
Open your eyes. This is not normal. What has our country come to? It’s vicious. It’s monstrous. It’s scary.
We as a society, as people, should be afraid not only of what’s currently happening, but alsp what more could happen.
Not so long ago there was a time where immigration and deportation was handled with human decency. There were deportations and there was a strain on immigration, but you know what there wasn’t? Kidnappings of five-year-olds like Liam Ramos, or 6-month olds being tear gassed.
There was anger and there was devastation, but there was decency.
It’s now to the point where many Americans live in fear regardless of their ethnicity, culture, race, or skin color. People are being targeted based on the color of their skin, and legal immigrants, if not American-born citizens, are being deported. It is no longer about someone’s immigration status. It’s about making America white again.
We are a month into 2026, and already ICE has killed nine people. Three of them were American citizens, and six were immigrants.
Geraldo Lunas Campos.
Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres.
Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz.
Parady La.
Victor Manuel Diaz.
Heber Sánchez Domínguez.
Keith Porter.
Renee Good.
Alex Pretti.
Those are their names. Regardless of legality, no one deserves to die, and due process is not optional. They were people—human beings. These people were fathers, mothers, daughters, and sons. They had families, and now those families have to live with the fact that they will never hear their voice or see their face outside of anything other than a photograph or video again.
It’s our job to remember them and use their deaths to fuel our rage and stand up against this administration.
Geraldo Lunas Campos, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Parady La, Victor Manuel Diaz, and Herver Sánchez Domínguez all died in DHS custody.
Keith Porter was killed by an off-duty ICE officer in “self-defense.”
Renee Good was shot in her car three times in the face, called a “fucking bitch” after, and was denied medical attention.
And the latest, Alex Pretti, was murdered for enacting his First Amendment right during a protest. He died trying to protect a woman from ICE brutality.
He was pepper-sprayed, tackled by numerous ICE officers, and pistol-whipped. Then the first shot rang after a moment’s hesitation. By then, Alex Pretti had fallen to the ground, injured. Nine more shots followed.
The ICE agents claim it was self-defense. They claim that the retired VA and ICU nurse had a gun. If he did, it was concealed. By the looks of the video—and trust me, I watched it numerous times—he didn’t reach for it.
If he did have a gun, it’s his Second Amendment right to carry. It is not an excuse for the agents’ use of excessive force.
Mind you, these are only the deaths we know of.
I find it amusing how our own president tweets, “ONLY CRIMINALS CARRY GUNS ON OUR STREETS, WE NEED LAW AND ORDER,” but where was that logic during the coup that was the January 6th insurrection when his own cronies stormed the capital with their assault weapons?
Our country is divided—broken, even. Our streets are filled with fear. The White House is filled with an incompetent and hypocritical president.
We are in a time that calls for change, and we as Americans must be the change. This isn’t about politics anymore. It’s about morals. So either you have them, or you don’t.
Wake up. Open your eyes. Be angry. Be loud.
Silence isn’t acceptable anymore, and I, for one, refuse to be silent.
