Keeping Up With The Kardashians: White House Edition

Keeping Up With The Kardashians: White House Edition

I can’t imagine the President of The United States being in the studio and creating albums. This image might be one the people of America would have to get used to if Kanye West were to win election in 2020.

Kanye West announced his plans to run for president in 2020 during his Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech this year at the VMA’s. From the moment Kanye hit the stage I knew stuff was about to go down, because as we all know Kanye just loves to make a spectacle of himself.

The speech was one of the longest acceptance speeches I have ever heard and unlike almost every other speech I’ve ever heard this one was filled with redundancies and seemed pretty unorganized. If he hadn’t lost me while he was babbling I might of actually been a bit inspired, but that wouldn’t of mattered, because Kanye was into it and I would imagine he was talking in hopes of inspiring no one, but himself. From his Taylor Swift fiasco, to his claim on former president, George Bush, not caring about black people, and continuing with his comparisons of himself to many other iconic celebrities it is obvious that Kanye feels as if his views should be made extremely apparent. So he continues to let everyone know how he feels at all times.

I personally love every album Kanye has ever released, but in all reality I don’t think Kanye would make a good president. Kanye West comes off many times as being egotistical, and as it is prominently displayed in his Yeezus album, which was released in 2013, that Kanye has a god complex. Kanye running for president would be entertaining to watch and I would imagine this leading to another reality show under the West/ Kardashian belt.

Kanye as president would be shocking, but what would be even crazier is Kim Kardashian as the First Lady. As a First Lady one should be able to be a role model to every little boy and girl looking up to her. As we all know Kim Kardashian has some skeletons in her closet, which I personally don’t care about, but sex tapes in America seems to be a touchy issue for most. Kanye is great at rapping, producing, and designing good over priced clothing and shoes. I might not know exactly what the recommended qualifications to becoming a credible president would be, but the titles Kanye has don’t seem to fit the qualifications I would imagine.

The presidency campaign announcement seemed to me as another publicity stunt, and the VMA’s was a perfect place for that. I tend to restrain myself from watching award shows, because they’re usually full of annoying instances like these. This year however I felt the need to give in to the hype and boy was I unprepared for the annoyance that was Miley Cyrus, but that’s neither here nor there. Kanye is one of my favorite artists, because he is a lyrical genius and a great producer. Kanye West as a president on the other hand doesn’t appeal to me personally
