It’s no secret that our nation is facing some hard times as of late.
The economy is rough, there are people on the streets without a home, ICE is assaulting civilians, and there are many people who are too afraid to speak up.
In a world like this, many dream of their favorite superheroes standing up to fight back. This, however, isn’t a dream anymore. There is now a real-life superhero out there helping spread awareness and positivity in his community.
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Skyline is a superhero who has become very popular in the past few months.
Skyline quickly gained a following on various social media sites. He is very popular on TikTok, where he currently has just below 750 thousand followers, and on Instagram, where he has over 82 thousand followers.
Upon visiting his social media accounts, you will find the superhero attending protests and helping those in need by giving out food and water. Skyline served in the Navy for a year and a half before being honorably discharged after losing family members to COVID.
Skyline then started a music career, where he started as a producer and then transitioned into rapping. His stage gimmick was his superhero persona, “Mystery Figure.”
“I thought it was hilarious,” Skyline said.
What started as a silly stage gimmick quickly turned into something more serious and intentional. He was later contacted by a real superhero, the Devil of Brooklyn, who inspired him to take up the mantle of heroism.
Author Veronica Ford was the one to come up with the name “Skyline.” The name means “the sky is the limit.”
Although his costume has a hard protective surface, the light blue and white offer an approachable, friendly look to the costume.
“I decided I was going to go with the blue and white to be like the sky,” Skyline said in an interview. “That being because my main goal is to inspire people to do better, do good things for their community.”
With the name and costume put together, Skyline strikes the image of an inspiring and hopeful-looking hero.
Skyline may not have any superpowers or a suit of armor, but he is someone we can all relate to. He’s just a normal guy doing what he can to help those around him.
Skyline walks around his community, giving aid to those in need and interacting with people on the streets.
You can go to his TikTok page, “Skyline Superhero,” and see him dragging around giant wagons full of Gatorade, water, and various snacks that he gives to the homeless. Skyline himself was in a rough spot for a period of time.
In an interview, Skyline talked about being homeless during high school. He was homeless for about eight months.
“One of my friends, her mom had a van, and… before or after she came home from work, I would sneak into the van,” he said.
Skyline was in a rough situation, like a lot of the people he helps, which offers more relatability and understanding.
In today’s political climate, it isn’t uncommon for celebrities to speak out about their personal beliefs, and Skyline is no different. He advocates LGBTQ+ rights online, protests against ICE, and even sits in on city council meetings.
Skyline isn’t afraid to speak up about what he believes in.
It seems that now more than ever, superheroes are being looked at as symbols of inspiration and hope. Superman (2025) showed that kindness is the real punk rock, and X-Men ‘97 preached fighting back against oppression.
Now, we have a real-life superhero representing the same things.
Skyline is a hero who holds all of these values and uses them to inspire those around him.
All of Skyline’s best traits, such as kindness and his call to activism, show that even though his costume and gadgets are really cool, what truly makes him a hero are the values that he fights for.
