Millikin University officially has a new President.
In another email from Ron Branch, Chairman to the Board of Trustees and Acting President, the announcement was made that Dr. Dean Pribbenow, current Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Elmhurst University, would be succeeding Dr. Jim Reynolds as the 17th President of Millikin University.
So, what do we know about the new President?
One important thing that the email outlined was that Pribbenow has some experience as an Acting President, a position that he served from July-August 2023. In addition, he has experience working in “challenging and thriving institutions” according to the email.
“During his on-campus visit, Pribbenow emphasized the urgency of taking action, and he understands and believes that Millikin’s financial plan is attainable and achievable,” the email read.
The Presidential Election is much needed tangible news with lots of uncertainties still surrounding who will finish up the year as Acting President. Pribbenow will not officially be President until July 1, 2025.
Dr. Julie Bates was very excited to hear the news.
“I’m thrilled to hear the announcement of the new President,” she said. “I have heard from many faculty who are excited about the ideas and expertise Dr. Pribbenow is bringing to the university, and we are looking forward to getting to know him and working with him.”
The Dec will be updating this story tomorrow.
