Women’s Basketball 2/4
The Millikin women’s basketball team lost their game on February 4 at Illinois Wesleyan 83-76, hosted in Bloomington, IL. Big Blue committed 34 turnovers against defense while Wesleyan only committed nine. Illinois Wesleyan had an advantage of 42-35 at the first half and the two teams played evenly through the second half, scoring 41 points each. The Big Blue shot 62 percent from the field including six out of ten from three point range. Illinois Wesleyan shot 39 percent from the field, and hit on 23-35 from the free throw line. Millikin’s Kelsey Going led with 23 points on 10-11 from the field and a 3-3 night from the free throw line. Yip Ypya had 13 and Holly Haskins added 19 points. Going, Haskins, and Alyssa Saklak each gained eight rebounds. Illinois Wesleyan’s top scorer was Molly McGraw with 25 points. Millikin goes to 4-6 now in the CCIW and 13-8 overall.
