The Super Bowl
On Sunday, February 1, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks went head-to-head in Super Bowl XLIX. Seattle, wanting to be the first repeat NFL champions since New England 10 years ago, was outplayed for the first half. Yet, tied at 14, scored the only ten points in the third period. Kearse’s 33-yard catch with 1:06 remaining got it to the 5. Marshawn Lynch rushed 4 yards. The backup quarterback, Butler, made the biggest play for his first NFL season with an interception at the goal line, setting up the victory for the Patriots. The final score was 28-24 New England.
