Millikin Men’s Basketball Takes Loss
On January 31, the Millikin men’s basketball team played Elmhurst and lost 72 to 88. During the first half, the Big Blue stayed with the Bluejays. At the half, the score was 40-33 Bluejays. When the game resumed, Millikin was blown out of the water. With only two minutes left in the game, the Big Blue could only bring the game to a ten point deficit.
Millikin shot 38 percent from the field, while Elmhurst shot 51 percent. What won the game was Elmhurst’s success from behind the three point line. The Bluejays made twelve of their twenty-three long range shots, where Millikin only made six of their sixteen.
The leading scorer for Millikin was Sims with twenty-seven points. Other scorers of the night were Griffin with seventeen and Biggs with eight.
