Millikin men’s basketball team lost 72-66 to North Park University on Feb. 7 in Decatur, Illinois at the Griswold Center. Big Blue lead for the most part in the first half before the Vikings got a 37-35 advantage leading into halftime. Tommy Pilackas’ basket brought Millikin within one at 65-64 with 1:25 left in the game. Michael Hutchinson from the Vikings pushed the lead back to 67-64. TJ Sims shot 2 free throws and again made it a one point game with 47 seconds left. A basket and one free throw by Jordan Robinson with 26 seconds left gained the win for North Park. Big Blue had five players score in the double figures, including Sims leading with 18. Pilackas and Zach Long each added 11 points to the score. TJ Griffin and Nathan Biggs both gained 10 points. Long and Bryn Agnew tied for the team high in rebounds with six each. The Viking’s Juwan Henry led all scorers with 21 points. Robinson from North Park finished with 17. Millikin goes down to 8-14, 3-8, while North Park improves to 14-8, 5-6.
