The Millikin Men’s Basketball team lost against Elmhurst College 74-60 in the CCIW contest on January 10 in Decatur, Illinois. The Elmhurst Bluejays led the entire game, with 33-28 in the first half. Elmhurst shot 43 percent from the field while Millikin shot 41 percent. The Bluejays hit on 7-17 from three-point range and went 25-31 from the free-throw line. The Millikin Men’s basketball team only hit 3-11 from beyond the arc and shot from the line 17-23. Elmhurst out rebounded the Big Blue 37-26. Leading the Big Blue was TJ Griffin (Junior) with five steals and 26 points. Zach Long (Freshman) had a team high six rebounds. Elmhurst had a high of 29 points from Kyle Wuest, while Erik Crittenden from Elmhurst had 13 points and a team high nine rebounds. Bluejay Will Nixon had 11 points and eight rebounds. Millikin’s stats fall to 6-8, 1-2 while Elmhurst improves to 12-2, 2-1.
