Big Blue lost to Wisconsin-La Crosse 57-54 on January 1 in Decatur. Millikin started strong with an 11-4 advantage. La Crosse used an 11-4 run the rest of the first half to take a 31-20 lead into the locker room. Coming into the second half, the Eagles had a huge lead up until the Big Blue started coming back with five minutes left. Millikin managed to get the score 55-50 with 28 seconds left when TJ Griffin converted on a basket and a free-throw. After a missed free-throw by La Crosse, Millikin cut the lead 55-52 on a layup by TJ Sims with 20 seconds left in the game. La Crosse hit two free-throws to make it 57-52 with 17 seconds left. With 11 seconds remaining on the clock, Griffin’s layup made it 57-54. Millikin had the chance to tie up the game, however Jacob Keuker’s three-pointer was blocked by La Crosse.
