The Millikin men’s and women’s swimming team split a double dual meet on November 7 at the McIntosh Pool in Decatur. Millikin defeated Lincoln College 104-67 in the men’s competition and took the women’s competition 125-15. Franklin College defeated both the men’s 151-50 and the women’s 152-49 events. Freshman Sami Battle set a new record in winning the 100 yard freestyle in 54.43. Battle also won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.02. Freshman Spencer McGowan won the men’s 50 yard freestyle in 27.78 seconds and finished first in the 100 yard backstroke in 56.03 seconds. Felicity Speirs was second in the 1000 yard Freestyle in 11:39.23 in a personal best time, which improves her standing at number 10 all-time at Millikin. Speirs was second in the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:43.56. Sophomore Patrick Lewellyn finished second in the men’s 200 Yard IM in 2:09.32.
