Men’s Head Basketball Coach: Matt Nadelhoffer

Head men’s basketball coach, Matt Nadelhoffer, has big plans this season. He hopes to crack into the top four of the CCIW conference, which will put the Big Blue among the top 25 in the nation. He expects the team to be much improved this season, considering that the nuclei of their program are the juniors. Coach Nadelhoffer believes that the team is a little ahead of schedule. The team has a new coaching staff and has also changed their offensive and defensive schemes.

The players themselves are showing, as well as proving, that they are fast learners. The Coach believes their biggest competitor this season will be themselves on a daily basis. Coach told me “we need to come ready to be physical, coachable and ready to play with high motors.” To get the team pumped and ready for the game, Coach Nadelhoffer has them watch hours of game film, gives his players scouting reports on the opponent, and prepares them daily at practice. He believes that doing all of these things makes the games more fun for the players.

Coach Nadelhoffer played basketball at Wheaton College where he met his wife, who was a cheerleader there. Basketball interests him because he loves the competition and he loves the chance to develop his players. He expects his players to be tough in what’s best for their environment.

Matt loves coaching at Millikin because it has a small environment. He says Millikin is a great school and is in the best conference in the country for our level. Success to coach Nadelhoffer is “doing our best, being great teammates, being coachable, impacting others in our community and doing what’s right because it’s right.” LETS GO BIG BLUE!
