Millikin Volleyball Falls at Carthage
With two teams in the top 25, the battle began with Millikin, who is ranked 20th and Carthage College who is 22, on Oct. 7 in Kenosha, Wisconsin where Millikin lost a road conference. Millikin’s volleyball team stats are now 18-4, 1-1 while Carthage college’s volleyball stats improve to 20-2, 2-0.
The first two sets were taken by Carthage scoring 25-14 and 25-22 with Millikin rallying to win the third set 25-13. Carthage gained a seven point advantage in the fourth set leading them 20-14 before Carthage College closed out their set with a 25-1 victory.
Audrey Krajec (senior) led Millikin with 13 digs and 21 kills. Jenna Hilgers (freshman) had 37 set assists. Erin Syversen (freshman) had 12 digs while Christina Capuani (freshman) had 10 digs.
Emily Heurmann from Carthage had 18 kills. Rachel Fields from Carthage had 10 digs and 17 kills.
Coming up: Millikin volleyball will host Augustana College at 7 p.m. in the Griswold Center on Oct. 14.
