On September 21st, Millikin completed the first two rounds of the Tournament Town Champ Preview in Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament includes 18 of the top NCAA DIII men’s golf teams and is being played where the championships will be.

Big Blue finished in 16th place with a team total of 620 after two rounds. Millikin’s top golfer was Blaine Buente (Sophomore) with a score of 149 tying for 29th place. Buente had a score of 80 in the first round, but came back in round two to shoot three under 69.

The 2014 NCAA DIII second place winner, Oglethorpe, was the leader of both rounds with a team score of 574. Illinois Wesleyan came in behind them with a score of 580. Anthony Maccaglia from Oglethorpe was the individual tournament leader after both rounds coming in with a nine under 135.

The final round is going to be on Monday, September 22nd.
