Women’s soccer opened the season with a victory over Knox College, defending our turf 3-0. Millikin scored on the 19^th minute with a corner kick from Kayla Lojas and the assist going to Jessica Taul. Lojas was last season’s goalkeeper, but a thumb injury forced her into a field player to start the season. She made the most of her opportunity by scoring her first career goal. Jenna Eaker scored the second goal off an assist from Emily Sanders. The final goal was scored by senior Ashley Flores with her first career goal with an assist from freshman Sydney Dorherty. Freshman Anna Benvenuto earned the win with a record four saves.

Big Blue played against Dominican University on Aug. 31 and was defeated 3-0. The women will hit the field again at home against Rode-Hulman on Saturday Sept. 6 at noon. As of right now, women’s soccer stands at 1-1.
