Athlete Spotlight: Taylor Copp

What is your year and major?

Freshman, and nursing

What has been your most memorable moment at Millikin so far?

Beating Wheaton who was the number on ranked D3 school in the nation.

What team do you play for and what position?

Soccer, and center back

What motivated you to continue soccer in college?

I have been playing for 15 years and I loved it too much to stop playing.

How would your friends describe you in three words?

Goofy, sweet, and clumsy

How do you deal with an injury and not being able to play soccer like you are always used to?

Sports and injuries go hand in hand but it is still hard to sit out and watch. I just need to learn to take on a different role on the team for now, and be able to work hard in therapy to get back to the level of play I used to be at.

What else are you involved in on campus?

I am a member of Student Athlete Advisory Council

Who has been your inspiration throughout life and or soccer?

My parents have always been there to support me and I wouldn’t be who I am, or where I am today without there help.

Why did you chose Millikin University?

It felt like home to me when I visited and I wanted to be able to go to a school that could provide me a good education and a chance to continue my athletic career.
