Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams had their games postponed due to inclement weather. The games have been rescheduled as a double header for Feb. 19.
After competing in the Rose Hulman’s Engineer Open, the Millikin women’s track team has advanced to fourth place. This charge was led by Sarah Bradley who broke another school record. Bradley won the 3000 meters with a time of 10:22.78. This record sets Bradley with two on the Big Blue Indoor Performance Chart. Bradley’s new record was set in the 1 mile run finishing in third in the race with a time of 5:07.65.
The men’s track team finished in fifth. Millikin had two top eight finishers in the 60 meters with Richard Long finishing in sixth at 7.32 seconds and Bern Williams with a time of 7.33. The Millikin men finished in both relay events. Three women and two men finished in the top 10 performances for the school. For the women, Bradley set the school record for the one mile run with a time of 5:07.65, placed number two all-time in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:22.78 and Amanda Meekers finished number eight all-time with a time of 11:21.25. For the men, Dustin Roth came in number two all-time in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.94 seconds and Zaniel Zilewicz came in number three all time for the same event with a time of 8.95 seconds.
Both the men and women’s swim teams continue to prepare for their next competition which will be the CCIW Championships. The Championships will take place in the Recplex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
