This issue’s Athlete Spotlight is centered on Kindra Emberton. Emberton is an outgoing female athlete that has an outstanding future ahead of her. She has had an exciting career at Millikin University so far by breaking records and striving for excellence. She exemplifies the qualities of a student-athlete who goes above and beyond in order to succeed in the classroom and sport.
What is your major?
A: My major is health and fitness, recreational with a minor in nutrition
What sport do you play and what events do you participate in?
A: Cross Country and Track and Field. I run 4×4, 800, 1600, 3000, 5000 and steeple chase.
What would you like to do when you graduate?
A: I would like to go to the Olympics and run the 5000 and steeplechase. I would then like to become a personal trainer and track coach. Later open my own gym.
What are your goals for the season?
A: My goals are to re-break all my records and become a national champion in track and field.
Any outside hobbies besides athletics?
A: Outside of track, I love to be with my family and friends. I love being out in the country and riding the four wheeler!
