Caitlyn Jenner Sued for Manslaughter
Caitlyn Jenner was the cause of a 4 vehicle car crash on February 7th. Resulting in a death, she has been sued but also may be charged with a manslaughter misdemeanor. After the car crash, Caitlyn Jenner was tested for alcohol consumption, which she passed as 100 percent sober. She was also not going above the speed limit before the incident. Reports say that Jenner was going too fast for the road conditions that day, which is what caused the accident. Jenner ran into a Lexus that was owned by 69 year old Kim Howe, who passed away during the incident. The death of Howe was caused by a Hummer as it turned and passed through the traffic due to the high pressure of the slam.
Caitlyn Jenner is now facing an 18.5 million dollar lawsuit from the owner of the Hummer, who also sued Kim Howe for the same amount of money. Howe’s family filed a lawsuit against Jenner for wrongful death, which Jenner’s side is trying to dismiss as Howe and her stepchildren do not have a strong relationship. Jenner is also being charged by the driver of a Prius, Jennifer Steindoff, who was also involved in the crash. Steindoff filed the case against Jenner for personal injury back in June. Along with all of these charges, Jenner is also facing charges of manslaughter for driving in a manner that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department believed was unsafe for the driving conditions on February 7th.
The matter is still under investigation, and no one knows why the Hummer owners are trying to sue Howe’s side as well. They also are confused as to why they are asking for such a large amount of money from both Howe and Jenner. Jenner’s side has yet to rebuttal about the $18.5 million for personal injury and damage. Howe’s side is eager to push through with their case against Jenner as well even though their side is trying to shut the case down.
Jenner feels very bad about the whole situation. Her heart goes out to Howe’s family and admits that she cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through right now. She then followed up that statement by saying she is praying for the family.
If convicted, Jenner could face up to a year in prison on top of any other charges. Jenner set off the “chain of events” by hitting Howe, sending her into oncoming traffic. Due to this, the likely hood of Jenner getting charged is very high.
Jenner will not answer questions regarding the car accident, and did not show up to the court date on June 25th. She has also refused to set another date for court. It is also said that she could receive another misdemeanor charge for following too closely. Jenner will not comment on anything, using the 5th amendment out of every question. Everyone now patiently awaits the court dates to see the outcome of the case.
