Germanwings crash kills 150 people
According to the report that was released on the New York Times website, a plane that was heading from Barcelona, Spain towards Düsseldorf, Germany crashed in the Alps region in France. All 150 people that were aboard the flight are now presumed to be dead.
The report discloses that the crash took eight minutes, and in those eight minutes the passengers on the Germanwings airplane fell 38,000 feet from the air crashing into the French Alps. The report states that the plane itself would have disengaged and that survival of the crash was impossible.
Another report that was released by the Guardian online states the cause for the crash of flight U49525 is yet unknown. The report does go on to say that the black box from the cockpit has now been recovered. A black box on aircraft is responsible for recording all of the happenings in the cockpit, and investigators should be able to figure out exactly what went wrong with the flight craft from all of the data that the box is able to give. The Guardian does report that investigators are confused as to why the pilots in the charge of the plane did not send out any mayday signals or distress calls.
The flight crashed on Tuesday, March 24. The crash site of the plane has been accessed by helicopters, and there were no survivors of the tragic crash to be found. It’s reported that the demographic of passengers on the plane were primarily young students and vacationers. The investigation of what could have caused the unexpected and sudden crash is still under investigation.
Woman murdered for accusations made that she burned the Quran
According to a report that was released on Time.com, protestors have taken up against the lynching of a woman in Afghanistan.
The report states that a 27-year-old woman by the name of Farkhunda was run over by a car and then her body was set on fire and dumped in the Kabul River in Afghanistan on Thursday, March 19. The report goes on to state that Farkhunda was protesting against the selling of amulets to women at shrines.
The protest became violent when a nearby crowd heard the accusations made against Farkhunda, which accused her of burning the Quran. When the nearby crowd overheard this news they decided to take matters into their own hands and that is when the attack began. The attack left the 27 year old woman dead, and officials report that Farkhunda had not in fact burned the Quran, the report stated.
It also stated that people are beginning to take to the streets and call for justice. The report states that protestors have painted their faces red and demanded that the people who murdered Farkhunda and then burned her body and dumped it in the river be brought to justice for their violent crimes against the innocent woman.
