ISIS takes responsibility for mosque bombings in Yemen
According to a report released by CNN.com, a suicide bomber attack killed 137 people at two mosques in Yemen on Friday March 20.
The CNN report stated that on March 20, suicide bombers charged into the mosques in Sanaa, Yemen and killed 137 people. The report also states that approximately 357 people were injured in the attack as well. CNN reports that the information is currently only being made available through media sources in the area and yet sure on anything official.
The report goes on to state that the terrorist group known as ISIS has taken responsibility for the attack but as the report stated, is the accuracy of this claim has yet to be proven. It said that ISIS took responsibility for the attack via a written statement, and then an audio clipped posted online that was similar in sound to audio track that took responsibility for a separate attack in Tunisia. The attack on the National Bardo Museum has said to have left 21 people dead, and ISIS has made claims that they were involved in this recent attack.
CNN goes on to report that if this attack is in fact ISIS led, then the attack is also a challenge to al Qaeda and Houthis who have just recently taken control of Sanaa. One of the claims that ISIS is responsible stated direct challenge and said the attack was carried out against Houthis “infidels.” There is no official word yet on who is responsible for these most recent outbreaks of violence, but may be that the influence of ISIS is spreading.
Train derail leaves at least 30 people dead
According to Xinhua news a train derailment has now led to the death of at least 30 people.
The report from Xinhua states the trains derailed near the Bachrawan train station in Uttar Pradesh state’s Rae Bareli. The report goes on to state that at this time the cause for derailment is believed to have been a signal error on the conductor’s part according to officials quoted from the report. The report states that medical rescuers and villagers began to frantically pull victims from the wreckage of the two train coaches.
The death toll of the is tragic attack has been rising since the occurrence and is expected rise further as more and more of the wreckage is pulled away and victims are still missing. The repots discloses that a compensation for the loss of lives will be given to those have lost someone in this accident. The money will go to the next of kin according to the report. The amount has been set at 200,000 rupees which the report says equals out to about 3,200 U.S. dollars. Investigation on the exact cause of the attack is still underway. Rescuers and Villagers continue to work at pulling people from the wreckage, and the railway company has set up a help line for people who have lost someone in the this tragic accident the report closes.
