Flight MH370 still missing
The flight that left from Kuala Lumpur headed towards Beijing on Mar. 8 has still yet to be discovered. The cause of the plane disappearance is still unknown, though it is widely believed that the plane was deliberately taken off of course.
Plane debris was found just off of the Perth of Australia but nothing more of the plane has been discovered, according to BBC’s report. Other countries have joined in the search for the missing flights, countries such as Japan, China and the United Kingdom. Just an hour after take off, the flight lost connection with Malaysia Airlines. The mysterious disappearance of the flight has means that all 227 passengers on the flight have gone missing. Including the 227, 12 more crewmembers went missing with the flight. Passengers hail from countries around the world including the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia, the Netherlands, France, Ukraine, India and Indonesia.
North Korea launches 30 rockets
According to reports from South Korea, North Korea has recently shot some 30 short-range rockets into the sea on the east coast, according to Fox News. The report goes on to say that the launch was nothing more than a drill to prepare for invasions. It is reported that the rockets launched were able to fly 37 miles.
Pope Francis calls out the Mafia
Pope Francis called out the mafia condemning them to Hell if they did not renounce their life of crime and give up their “bloodstained money and bloodstained power.” This has been the first time in long time that a Pope has spoke out so strongly against organized crime.
According to The Guardian’s report, Pope Francis said, “I feel that I cannot conclude without saying a word to the protagonists who are absent today the men and women mafiosi, please change your lives. Convert yourselves. Stop doing evil.”
Pope Francis’s speech asking the mafia to renounce their ways after a recent attack left a toddler and two adults dead. The report goes on to say that Pope Francis said this life of crime cannot give you happiness and the cannot bring their bloodstained money to the next life.
Three Palestinians killed by Israeli forces
According to the Miami Herald, three Palestinians were shot and killed in a raid led on Mar. 22. The three Palestinians were killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces. It is reported that the raid was led in search of Hamas militant, Hamza Abu al Hija, the raid took place at the Jenin refugee camp. This recent attack has been one of several in recent weeks that has resulted in unarmed Palestinian deaths.
It is believed that Hamza Abu al Hija is responsible for several terrorist attacks that have occurred recently. Israeli forces suspect Hamza was planning more serious terrorist attacks. Abu al Hija was killed in the attack, but not before he killed an attack dog, and wounded two other Israeli officers. Mahmoud Abu Zeina and Yazan Jabarin were the other two Palestinians killed in the attack. The two were believed to be involved in terrorist groups that posed a threat to Israel.
