Netflix Review: Riverdale
Have you ever seen a town that was held together by families, secrets, lies, and betrayals be shaken up by a mysterious death? This sounds like a great plot to a TV show right? I think so. The show Riverdale is about how a town that is full of mysteries and secrets is shaken up by events that happened on the fourth of July.
On the fourth of July Jason Blossom, one-half of the rich and popular Blossom twins goes missing, and thus begins Riverdale starting to investigate it as a murder.
The series starts in September, it is the beginning of a new school year, that brings in new students, relationships, and reveals the mysteries of the past 4th of July.
Riverdale follows friends Archie Andrews (played by KJ Apa), Jughead Jones (played by Cole Sprouse), Betty Cooper (played by Lili Reinhart), and Veronica Lodge (played by Camilla Mendes) on their adventure to find out what happened to Jason Blossom (played by Trevor Stines) that day at the river. .
Andrews enters the new school year, with many things weighing on his shoulders. He wants to make his dad happy and play football, but also he wants to pursue a future in the music business. As he is coming off a fresh relationship with his music teacher, this has left him without a mentor for the year. A few other relationships problems Andrews has is that him and his best friend Jughead being in a bad place. As things start to look on the come up, Riverdale gets a new student Veronica Lodge, who is the daughter of Hiram Lodge, a man who has been sent to jail for fraud. Veronica and Archie seem to have instant chemistry, but she is hesitant to befriend Betty because she knows of her feelings for him. The group of friends go through a lot together; they also get involved with the popular troublemaker Cheryl Blossom (played by Madelaine Petsch), the twin of the murdered Jason.
Riverdale a comic book turned American teen drama. This hit new show is based on the Archie Comics. If you want to watch a show that as full as drama and thrill then Riverdale is a show for you. This is a show that is relatable to teenagers as well. The show shows how hard it can be dealing with relationship problems. Also how to deal with problems with your best friend.
If a show that is about teenage life isn’t good enough, how about the crime aspects. The golden boy of Riverdale has just been murdered, who did it? Don’t you want to find out what kind of twisted person killed a beloved person of the town?
I give Riverdale a five-star rating. While watching this series, it kept me on my toes. I also made several guesses as to who could have killed Jason, but in the end, the person who did it was quite shocking.
Want to know who killed him? You will have to watch and find out; I promise you’ll be surprised in the end. Also, something to know, Riverdale is airing their second season on October 11. You better hurry and watch now so you can make a smooth transition onto the second season.
