For the first time, a company named EnChroma has created a way to let colorblind people see the full spectrum of color. They have created sunglasses that allow the wearer to see a sharper spectrum of colors. This has been tested by actual colorblind people. They were brought to tears by what they saw. One of the company’s participants would finally be able to see the actual form of his child’s drawings.

The reason that they have been able to create a successful device is because of how they chose to look at colorblindness. They have recognized the fact that colorblindness isn’t something to do with the mind.

Much like bad eyesight, colorblindness is a problem with the makeup of the eye. So, they thought if you can make glasses to see better, why can’t you do the same to correct colorblindness?

These glasses can also be used by those who are not colorblind to sharpen the spectrum that you already see. Studies have shown that this can help to improve your mood. This is especially useful for those who have Seasonal Affective Disorder as it makes everything brighter.

They are being assisted by the painting company Valspar to make this a reality. This is an expensive product, but it isn’t all together unreasonable. The glasses average around $400. You can get ones that come in all different styles and strength so that each pair is catered to your particular type of colorblindness.

While it does not come in contact lenses, this is still a very unique innovation. The fact that there is something out there that can help people see more beauty than before is an astonishing thing.
