Game Review: Brain Wars
It’s hard to find a game that’s fun and works your brain at the same time. Downloading Brain Wars showed me that such a thing exists.
Brain Wars allows you to play against either strangers or your friends, train your brain in all different areas and have fun while doing it. You have the option to connect with Facebook or sign up through email. I connected with Facebook because it allows you to have the capability of playing against your friends that also have the game. You can challenge anyone in the world, or just challenge someone from your friends list.
When you challenge someone, you play three rounds against him or her. Each of the three rounds measures one of these things: memory, speed, judgment, observation, accuracy or calculation.
In each round there is an option of three games, which is randomly picked. Then you have to try to beat your opponents’ score within 20 seconds. The game only moves you to the next level when you obtain the same score in all areas. For example, if you have 300 points in accuracy, observation, judgment, speed and memory, but only 250 in calculation, you cannot level up until you are well rounded.
The levels are animal names; you start as a chicken, and then go to turtle, then to cat, dog, etc. The person you are paired up against may be a different level than you, which can often be very challenging.
The mini games include the following titles: Follow the Leader, Unfollow the Leader, Simplicity, Addition Addiction, Rainfall, Operations, Touch the Number, Matching, Color of Deception, High or Low, Concentration, Bird Watching and Tap the Color. These mini challenges can earn you coins that allow you to advance in the game in many ways – although there are lives just like most games that have to refill in a certain amount of time or with coins.
This game is very addicting and fun to play. Sometimes it can be frustrating, as any other game is, but overall it’s fun and allows you to train your brain. The fact that it’s so fun and helps with many different brain functions is an added plus.
Also, the fact that you can beat all your friends in all different kinds of mini challenges is fun as well. Communicating with people is also possible, but only by little emojis towards the bottom of the screen. Many random people I was paired up with used the “thumbs up” for good luck or the angry face if I won.
This game is a lot of fun and is a way to pass the time on any smartphone or tablet. I encourage you to download Brain Wars and train your brain in a fun way.
