Millikin’s Creative Corner

A Poem

The free spirit of the child searches beyond the barriers of his age.

The mind is content, too young to understand.

Creativity is everywhere, not just in his Blues Clues thinking chair.

Powerful, contagious energy he holds,

Surrounded by love and joy the inner child sings.

Until he glances over the walls and the mind first wanders.

The inner child fades all too soon as the mind begins to rattle its cage.

Beyond age, the mind battles with the inner child.

Quickly he is unsure of his surroundings and who he has been,

Showered in love but the child still questioned.

When did these walls get here?  It used to be so vast

Back in his thinking chair, his creativity lacks.

Something more he searches for, something more he feels is beyond.
