Jurassic World Movie Review
Get ready to travel back to a land of unbelievable feats, with creatures that lived long ago. Of course I am talking about none other than Jurassic World! This film is the fourth in the Jurassic Park series, and a fifth will be released in 2018.
Jurassic World takes place twenty-two years after the original film. A new theme park, Jurassic World, is opened off the coast of Central America. Jurassic World is known for the biggest and best attractions. They are currently working on an attraction based around a genetically modified dinosaur, the Indominus Rex. Something goes wrong with the Dinosaur, and now we have our set up for Jurassic World. Jurassic World is essentially a monster movie with dinosaurs as the monsters and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D’Onofrio. Chris Pratt is one of Hollywood’s most likeable actors in today’s films. Pratt got his big break on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, and then he went on to star in blockbuster films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie.
Chris Pratt has a sort of dorky charm about him that fascinates men and women alike, and makes people want to see him star in more films. Pratt proves that he can rock the action hero title just as much as he can rock as a comedy star. In this film, we get to see him with some of his best work yet playing Owen the park’s Velociraptor trainor. Owen and Clare, the female protagonist, go on a mission to not only stop the Indominus Rex, but also save Clare’s nephews that are lost in the park. Colin Trevorrow stepped up to the plate to direct this new Jurassic Park sequel. John Williams did not come back to write the score to Jurassic World, but rather composer Michael Giacchino who incorporated William’s original theme in the film.
On Rotten Tomatoes the film has a rating of 71%, based on 261 reviews, with an average rating of 6.7 on IMDB. Jurassic World holds the record as one of the first movies to gross a billion dollars in the short time of thirteen days. Universal had promotional deals this summer with corporations such as Dairy Queen, Mike and Ike and Lego. Even if you aren’t a fan of the Jurassic Park series, you can have a lot of fun with this film. I went into this film only seeing briefly some of the first film and was able to follow this film and ended up really enjoying it.
Apparently I was not the only who enjoyed it because Jurassic World became the biggest blockbuster of the summer by earning 1.6 billion dollars at the box office.
Universal spent a total of 34.9 million dollars on TV advertisements for the film. Jurassic World is a movie that everyone should watch, even if you are not a fan of dinosaurs. The film currently stands as the third highest grossing film of all time, only behind Avatar and Titanic. Jurassic World was a giant film and crushed all types of records. Overall, Jurassic World is a fun blockbuster movie that the whole family can enjoy. Jurassic World is on BluRay and DVD on October 20.
