HBO plans to have their new online streaming feature ready to launch with the upcoming season five of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones, which premieres Apr. 12, will launch concurrently with HBO NOW. HBO has always taken pride in the shows that they offer, HBO customers have been paying extra fees each month just to access to the network. HBO NOW will be no different. Users who want the streaming service will have to pay 15 dollars a month for the service.

There has been both positive and negative feedback on the pricing of HBO NOW, some users feel as though the pricing is perfectly acceptable, while others don’t see how Netflix can be available for as low as 7.99 a month with many more options than HBO. According to the Huffington Post, HBO is currently in the works to launch this new technology on Apple devices. No word has been finalized when Apple users can expect HBO NOW.

According to Hypable, Game of Thrones is most pirated television show on  the internet and HBO hopes that this new streaming capability will help them combat the piracy. In addition, the Huffington Post states that HBO is making their move to streaming television because things such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Roku are becoming more favorable alternatives to the old ways of cable and satellite television. Huffington Post also reports that Showtime is in the works of creating a streaming alternative for their company.
