It’s Game of Thrones season again

Big news for the fans of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, fans of the book and television series will be excited with recent release of the shows  fourth season on dvd and bluray. Fans of the show can now watch all ten episodes of the epic fourth season again. Didn’t even get to see the fourth season when it was premiering? That’s okay! Thanks to HBO’s early dvd release of the most current season, fans can watch all ten hours of the show and the extras because the fifth season of the epic series doesn’t begin until April 12.

However, fans of the book series and the television series understand that the television show is rapidly catching up with itself. By the end of season 5 which is the season premiering on April 12, the show will finish out the fifth and latest published book by George R.R. Martin. Then what?

Well, creators of the show David Benioff and D.B. Weiss plan to keep pushing forward with season six. That’s right fans, season six will continue with or without George R.R. Martin’s book. The creators of the show plan to continue forward despite not having the text as a bench mark. The creators of show do know however how the book series is going to wrap up. It will be interesting to see how the creators of the show and the actors who portray our favorite characters will go forward without the crutch of the text to use as a guidepost.

Creators of the show plan to move forward without the text because George R.R. Martin himself is unsure of when the next book will be available to readers. Martin is known for his laborious work on the book series, there were after all five years between A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows with another six years between A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons. Readers of the books have no telling when book six, The Winds of Winter will hit the shelves in their local book stores, but one thing is for certain, Martin already promised that it would not be in 2015.

It will be a testament of reader devotion if readers of the book series will make an effort to keep up with Martin’s story long after HBO gives us the ending that we are anxiously awaiting.

Maybe you’ve heard of the board game The Settlers of Catan, if not, you’re missing out on a very intensive board game that requires players to compete against other players and elements of the game in order to gain control of land and collect resources to settle the uninhabited land.

Fans of the board game, which seems to have its own devout following of players, may be interested to know that the rights to the popular board game have been bought to make film and television adaptations of the popular game. Fans of games may remember the same decision was made to make the popular Battleship getting a movie treatment and it completely failing, are probably already starting to groan at the announcement of the their favorite board game seeing a movie and/or television treatment.

Gail Katz is the producer who now has the rights according to report released on the website Hypable.com. The board game already has a book series that is set in the world of Catan, but nothing is yet known about whether the story will exist around the texts who use the popular setting, or if the story will be something new entirely. Only time will tell what we can expect to come of the new television show or film that will use the already popular location of Catan as inspiration for the new adaptation.
