Millikin’s study abroad program has great opportunities coming up this summer. In Italy, students will jump into a “seven-week, multidisciplinary, international experience combining courses from across campus with Italian language and culture on site,” B.J. Warren, Arts and Entrepreneurship faculty member, said. Back by popular demand, this will be the second annual summer program in Italy.
“The students’ ‘home base’ is in Urbania, Italy – a small village of less than 8,000 people tucked away in the mountains of the Marche region of central Italy near the Adriatic Coast,” Warren said.
Students will stay in fully furnished apartments owned by the local community members.
Student Kale Ewing went on the trip last year. He said, “I loved my experience! I actually took ten credits worth of classes, plus conversational Italian, so I was extremely busy. However, every class, plus the multiple excursions to other cities around the country gave such a unique insight into life in Italy. It was absolutely worth every penny.”
The trip is open to any student from any major. They can choose to travel for three, four or seven weeks, taking one to six classes, spanning two sessions. Session one is four weeks long, and runs from May 25 to June 23. Session two is three weeks, and runs June 22 to July 14.
Registration is due March 1. Students should email [email protected] for more information and to register. Students can also view the webpage to get more information on the trip. http://www.millikin.edu/academics/tabor/entrepreneurship/italy/courses/Pages/default.aspx
