Coming Soon: Dress to Impress 2022

December 14, 2021

The Center for Academic and Professional Performance (CAPP) has partnered with three other organizations in the Tabor School of Business to bring the 2022 Dress to Impress event.

Kalli Collins, one of the people in charge of the event, said students will be able to receive free professional clothing to keep. The amount of clothing the students will receive depends entirely on the number of donations from the community and Millikin alumni.

Organizers are requesting that clothing donations be turned into the CAPP office in the University Commons room 312, or donors can call (217) 424-6398 to request a pick-up of clothing.

Collins affirmed that they are accepting donations of all sizes, as they want to have the widest selection of clothing possible for students. After donations are received, the clothing will be dry cleaned at Waite’s Dry Cleaners, a Decatur business that is sponsoring the event.

Students who attend the event will receive advice from alumni and other volunteers about how to dress for different business opportunities. Together, students and volunteers will assemble a professional outfit for the student.

This event is still in the planning stages. The exact time and place is tentative as the CAPP works with the University to properly schedule it, but Dress to Impress will take place the week before the University’s Career Fair.

While Dress to Impress is currently scheduled as a one-time event, Collins said the long-term goal is to make it an annual campaign before potentially transforming it into something students can access year-round.
