Millikin’s volleyball team opened their season by splitting a pair of matches on September 1st in Decatur, Illinois at the Griswold Center. The volleyball team won their opening match over Greenville College with 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-22). Leading the Big Blue was Erin Syversen with 6 digs and 16 kills. With the team high was Cassidy Kingery with 9 digs and 4 service aces. Emily Mihalkanin then added to the team with 36 set assists. Millikin then lost their match to Dominican University 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-17). Leading again in the second game was Syversen with 16 kills. Adding 13 kills was Kelsey Talkington and Cortney Bohn then added 11 kills. Adding 15 digs was Kingery following Mihalkanin with 46 assists.

Coming up: the Big Blue volleyball team will play a tournament starting on September 4th at the University of Chicago.
